Ms. Loretta Parnella O'Quinn, 75, of Mamers was fortunate to spend this Thanksgiving with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She passed peacefully at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Lee County, the daughter of the late Lee Roy and Louise O'Quinn. Loretta worked at Carnes in Sanford and also as a jailer for the Harnett County Sheriff's Department. Loretta enjoyed reading her Bible, and witnessing for the Lord. She loved traveling, working in the yard, and spending time with her family. She was a loving and caring person and always wore a smile on her face. Loretta was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers, where she gladly served in whatever capacity needed. Loretta is survived by her sister, Lyndell Stanley of Mamers; her cousin/sister, Patricia Hester; her son, Chris Smith and wife Elizabeth of Sanford; daughter, Rhonda Malinski of Mamers; daughter, Tammy Brown of Mamers; granddaughter, Courtney Bullard of Johnsonville; grandson, Jason James and wife Crystal of Jacksonville, NC; grandson, Nathan James and wife Jamie of Norfolk, VA; granddaughter, Taylor Osborne of Hope Mills; granddaughter, Casey Burns of Lillington; granddaughter, Miranda Brown of Mamers; great grandsons Sean, Tristan, Landon, Noah, Reid, Waylon , Hunter, and Connor; great granddaughter, Autumn; niece, Jamie Campbell and husband Allan; nephew, Daniel Stanley; great nephews, Andrew, Jason, Michael, and Johnathan; and great niece, Dani Grace. Arrangements were handled by O'Quinn Peebles Phillips Funeral Home in Lillington, NC, with services held at Antioch Baptist Church and burial in the church cemetery.
