Husband of Norma Jean Clayton. Henry Bernard Clayton, Jr., 91, of Broadway passed away peacefully at his home. He was born in Person County the son of the late Hallie and Henry B. Clayton, Sr. Bernard was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Clayton; sister, Lois Clayton and 2 brothers, D.C. and Carl Clayton. Bernard was a US Army WWII veteran. He retired from Sanford Produce and also worked as a farmer. Bernard was a lifelong member of Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers and was a die hard Carolina Tarheel fan. Bernard is survived by 2 daughters, Donna Clayton (Darrell May) of Lillington, Phyllis Tankersley (Roger) of Angier; 3 sons, Larry Clayton (Elaine) of Broadway, Duane Clayton (Cathy) of Mamers, Darrell Clayton (Barbara) of Broadway; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson. Arrangements were handled by O'Quinn Peebles Phillips Funeral Home of Lillington, NC. Funeral services were held at Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers, NC with burial in the church cemetery.
15. Clayton, Ora Lee Brown   (b. 19 Feb 1922 - d. 16 Mar 2020)
Wife of Carl Edward Clayton, Sr. Mrs. Ora Lee Clayton, 98, of Broadway passed away at Liberty Commons in Sanford. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late James Henderson Brown and Nettie Loveday Holder Brown. Ora was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edward Clayton; granddaughter, Cindy Fulton; brothers, Ferrel, Eustace, Edmund, Royce, Jim and sisters, Jean and Delsie. She was a beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Ora loved to cook for family and enjoyed welcoming everyone into her home. She was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church and the Doers of the Word Sunday School Class. Ora was the oldest living member of Antioch Baptist Church until her death. Ora is survived by 4 daughters, Glenda Clayton Patterson of Broadway, Diane Clayton Hunter and husband, Johnny of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, Lois Weatherhogg of Lemon Springs, Karen Clayton of Lillington; 2 sons, Carl Clayton, Jr. and wife, Jackie of Broadway, Marshal Clayton and wife Robin of Mamers; 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister, Mona McNeill and husband, Clarence Cordavent of Sanford; brother, Jerry Brown and wife, Linda of Oregon. Arrangements were handled by O'Quinn Peebles Phillips Funeral Home of Lillington. Services were held at Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers, with burial in the church cemetery.

She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Lonnie and Lula Nordan Page. Callie worked for many years at Cornell Dubilier and retired from Coty in Sanford. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and tending to her countless flowers. Callie was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, George W. Collins; daughter, Rachel B. Collins; son-in-law, Atlee Hilton; sister, Mary Lee Capps; brothers, Gilbert Thomas Page and Calvin Page. Callie is survived by son, Jesse Collins and wife Phyllis of Sanford; daughter, Mabel Hilton of Lillington; 2 granddaughters, Dee Barker and husband Kevin of Garner and Shannon LaBelle and husband Jeff of Angier; 2 great-granddaughters, Brittany Elizabeth Barker and Savannah Brooke Barker; 3 sisters, Beulah Wicker of Lillington, Louise Clark of Raleigh and Judy Rayfield and husband Bev of Garner; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
