Husband of Mary Jane Strickland. Mr. Clarence Jeff Strickland, 70, of Dunn, died at Wake Med Hospital. Jeff was born in Harnett County, son of the late Albert Marion Strickland and Eunice L. Strickland. Jeff was preceded in death by his sisters; Annie Mae Strickland, Willa Dean Thornton, Mary Elizabeth Strickland, and one brother; Henry Strickland. Jeff was more commonly known as the Tree Surgeon of Dunn. He was known for his generosity among friends and people in the community. He had a passion for photography, and a very strong work ethic. He was also a member of Mt. Carmel PFWB Church of Dunn. Jeff is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Jane Strickland; daughters Jan Hartness and husband Allen of Georgia, Patsy Lee and husband Carl of Clinton, Teresa Bradley and husband Michael of Plainview, and Debbie Jones and husband Timmy of Bunnlevel. He also has six grandchildren; Kenya Cordell, Kayla Hedrick, Pamela Lee, and Justin, Alex and Rayden Bradley; two great grandchildren; Jordan Cordell and Renn Hedrick; brothers Marion and Thomas Strickland; sisters Judy McCorquodale, and Robbie Edwards. Arrangements were handled by Skinner and Smith Funeral Home of Dunn, NC. A funeral service was held at Mt. Carmel PFWB Church with burial at Devotional Gardens in Dunn.

Husband of Laura Wilder Strickland. Howard Bennett Strickland, 89, of Dunn died at Cornerstone Nursing & Rehab in Dunn. Mr. Strickland was born in Johnston County son of the late Buddy Carl and Luna Boyette Strickland. Mr. Strickland was a 1948 graduate of Corinth-Holder High School and had served in the U.S. Navy. He had retired from Lance Inc. where he had worked for thirty-two years and was a member of Second Baptist Church of Dunn where he had served as Deacon and Sunday-school teacher. He was also a member of the Palmyra Masonic Lodge in Dunn. Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife of 67 years Laura Wilder Strickland; daughter, Ellen Gossett and husband Ronnie of Winston-Salem; son, Ben Strickland and wife Carlene of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Kevin Gossett and wife Leah, Bennett Strickland and wife Olivia, Carson Strickland; great grandchild, Cooper Gossett; brothers, Coleman Strickland and wife Barbara Nell, James Strickland, Grady Strickland and wife Faye; sister, Marie Boykin and husband Warren.
