Husband of Drucilla McDonald. Norman Devon McDonald, 76, of Erwin died at home. He was born in Erwin at Good Hope Hospital. A son, Mark Andrew McDonald and parents Thomas Matthew McDonald and Johnnie Mae Byrd McDonald preceded him in death. Devon was a 32nd degree Mason in the Erwin Masonic Lodge and a member of Scottish Rite in Wilmington, NC. In his younger days, Devon was an active member and a past president of the Erwin Jaycees. He taught in Harnett County Schools for 30.5 years at Lillington High School, Harnett Central High School and Triton High School. He taught auto mechanics, drafting and welding. Devon was an avid reader, a dedicated NASCAR racing fan, having built two winning racecars that were raced at local dirt tracks. He enjoyed shag dancing with his wife; playing cards and he loved to spend time with his grandchildren and his beloved dog, Bullitt. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Drucilla McDonald, son, Kevin McDonald and fiance Kelly of Coats and daughter, Samantha and husband Daniel Thomas of Lillington; grandchildren Skye McDonald, Jenna McDonald, Sarah McDonald, Spencer Thomas and Garrett Thomas and two great-grandchildren, brother Thomas Ronald McDonald of Winston Salem and sister Linda Gale Knowles of Falls Church, Va. Arrangements were with West and Dunn Funeral Home of Erwin. Erwin Presbyterian Church officiated the Funeral Service. Burial with Masonic Rites was held at Erwin Memorial Park.

Wife of Scott McLamb. Mrs. Tammy Johnson McLamb, 58, of Erwin passed away unexpectedly surrounded by her family Monday evening at Duke University Medical Center. She was born in Harnett County to the late George L. and Jean Morrison Johnson. Tammy was a 1978 graduate of Erwin High School and 1981 graduate of Campbell University. She was a teacher for many years in the Harnett and Cumberland County School Systems. Tammy was a well loved and popular teacher among students. Prior to teaching, she worked 16 years as an Office Manager at Dr. Henderson D. Mabe's medical practice in Erwin. Tammy was a caring mother who loved her family and was known for her cheerful and generous spirit. She is survived by her husband, Scott McLamb: her two daughters, Lauren McLamb of Nashville, TN and Morgan McLamb and fianc‚ Caleb Coleman of Dillon, SC; her brother, Dr. Lloyd Johnson and fianc‚e Susan Zant of Buies Creek; two sisters, Pamela Johnson Trainer and husband Peter of Wilmington and Janet Johnson and husband Jerome Caudle of Dunn; and many nieces and nephews that she loved very much. Arrangements were handled by Skinner and Smith Funeral Home of Dunn, NC. A funeral service was held at Erwin First Baptist Church with burial in Erwin Memorial Park Cemetery.
