Wife of William C. Stone. Mrs. Mary Frances (Ault) Stone, 94, of Buies Creek at Universal Healthcare Nursing Home in Lillington, NC. She was born in Montoursville, PA, to the late James Clyde Ault and Mildred Rose (Updegraff) Ault, and was next to the youngest of five siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Stone; her son, Bari W. Stone; her parents; her oldest sister, Evelyn Gehr; and her youngest brother, Gerald Keith Ault. Frances is survived by a loving and close-knit family. Her surviving siblings include Clyde Eugene Ault and Phyllis Thomas. Her surviving children and grandchildren include Lyvonne (Craig) Snyder, Ann (James) Little, Bari (Shannon) Snyder, and Christopher (Katherine) Snyder, Kelly (Marcus) Thompson, Amanda (Vance) Riggs. Her great-grandchildren include Cydney, Chloey, and Caleb Snyder; Kaylem, Kaylie, Kayclyn, and Kaycie Snyder; Parker and Taylor Thompson; Camryn Aikin. She has nine nieces and nephews along with their spouses and children. She attended J. George Becht Elementary School and graduated from Montoursville High School in 1941. During WWII Frances was the head of the Department of Camouflage at Carey McFalls. She worked for 37 years overseeing the Listening Lab at Campbell University. As one of the oldest members of Lillington United Methodist Church and a strong woman of faith, Frances gave tirelessly of herself to her church and held many positions. She was the first woman lay leader, a member of the LUMC Women, sang in the choir, played piano, taught Sunday School, directed the children's choir, worked in VBS, and chaired several boards over the years just to name a few. Arrangements were handled by O'Quinn Peebles Phillips Funeral Home of Lillington, NC. A memorial service was held at Lillington United Methodist Church. Burial at Harnett Memorial Park.
