Wife of Mark Barclay. Kathryn (Walker) Barclay, 46, of Lillington, North Carolina passed away at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She was born in Newark, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Ronald Walker and Valerie Warnock. Kathryn was a graduate of Newark High School, had a BSN from Jacksonville University, and a BA from The Ohio State University. Kathryn was a very dedicated pediatric nurse who loved her job; she worked at several local hospitals and most recently at Womack Army Medical Center. She loved reading and baking with her daughter Ginger, cooking, and helping her husband Mark in the garden. She was a devoted military wife who worked generously with other wives to send packages to their husbands stationed in Iraq. Kathryn is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, SFC Mark Barclay (Retired) US Army, her daughter, Ginger Barclay, her mother, Valerie Warnock, of Ohio, her grandmother, Marjorie Warnock (Nana) of Ohio, her 2 sisters, Robyn Stewart of Texas and Amy Walker of Ohio, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Kathryn was preceded in death by her sister, Hope Mauller. Arrangements by O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home and Crematory, Lillington, North Carolina and Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, Newark, Ohio. Funeral services were held at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home in Newark, Ohio and burial was held at Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington, NC.

Mrs. Elvira "Pat" Bartley, 89, of Edgewater, MD, formerly of Broadway, passed away. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Johnnie E. Patrick and Geneva Darroch Patrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Kenneth Ray Bartley and James Reece Bartley; sisters, Mildred Malloy, Linda Millican; brothers, Jack Patrick and Earl Patrick. Pat worked and retired from Bank of America after many years of service. After retiring, she enjoyed working with Meals on Wheels. Pat loved traveling and spending time with family and friends. Pat is survived by her 2 grandchildren, Christy Grambo and Jimmy Bartley both of Maryland; 2 great-grandchildren, Cody and Hanna Grambo; sister, Beatrice Coats of Lillington, brother, Tommy Patrick and wife Betty of Lillington, sister, Sandra Harrington and husband Kelly of Broadway; nieces and nephews. Arrangements were handled by O'Quinn Peebles Phillips Funeral Home of Lillington, NC. A private family graveside service was held at Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington.

Mrs. Byrd was born in Harnett County, and was the daughter of John Horton Poe, and wife, Sarah Byrd Poe, both of Bunnlevel, NC. Mrs. Byrd graduated from Lillington High School and attended Campbell University, Buies Creek, NC. Mrs. Byrd was a legal secretary for Nance, Barrington, Collier and Singleton, Attorneys, in Fayetteville, NC, Woodall and McCormick, Attorneys, in Lillington, NC and Kelly and West, Attorneys, also in Lillington, NC. She spent over 30 years working for these law firms. Mrs. Byrd was a former member of Bunnlevel Presbyterian Church and Lillington United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her daughter, Andrea Byrd Rainey of Buies Creek, NC, and a brother, John David Poe of Bunnlevel, NC. Mrs. Byrd is survived by her husband of 52 years, Samuel Martin Byrd of Lillington, NC, a granddaughter, Ashleigh Rainey Trent of Leonardtown, MD, and sisters Barbara Poe McLean of Odessa, FL, and Sandra Poe Bridgers of Knightdale, NC. Mrs. Byrd's entire life was devoted to her husband and family, especially her daughter, granddaughter, mother and grandmother. Her charm was highlighted by her beauty and a wonderful gentleness and style, a warm smile, and a deep concern to do what she thought was right for all with whom she came into contact. She, along with her daughter and granddaughter, have been described by a lifelong friend and classmate as being beautiful both inside and out. She was such a soft-spoken person and was the very definition of the word "Lady" in every aspect of her life. Music and dancing were her lifelong passions.
