Husband of Virginia Fitchett Finch. Mr. Keith Gower Finch, 97, of Dunn died at his residence. He was born in Wake County to the late William T. and Blanche M. Finch. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Virginia Fitchett Finch, a son, Keith "Buck" Finch, Jr., and two brothers. Keith was a 1941 graduate of Campbell College after which he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII as a pilot and instructor. He was a very successful entrepreneur and businessman with Finch Construction Company and Finch Oil Company. Keith received an honorary degree of Doctor of Laws from Campbell University where he served on the board of trustees. He was the curator of the General William C. Lee Museum and involved with the Averasboro Battleground and Museum. He served on the board at Betsy Johnson Hospital for many years. Keith was owner of the Dunn-Erwin Airport and instrumental in starting the Harnett Regional Jetport. He is one of the last original members of the Wisdom Table at Sherry's Bakery. He was a member of Palmyra Masonic Lodge, American Legion Post 59, and the Erwin Goodfellas. Keith was a recipient of Dunn's Man of the Year award. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dunn where served on the Building and Grounds Committee, a deacon and a life time deacon, and various other committees. He is survived by two daughters, Ginger F. Barbour and husband Carl of Dunn, Cindy F. Robinson and husband Michael of Dunn; five grandchildren, Keith Finch, III, Mary B. Stegall, E. Carl Barbour, III, Richard S. Monds, III, Morgan F. Knittle and husband Nolan; four great grandchildren, Holden Stegall, Laylon, Trennon and Kylon Knittle, and friend, Edna Denning. Arrangements were handled by Skinner & Smith Funeral Home of Dunn. Services were held at First Baptist Church in Dunn with burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Dunn, NC.
